The puzzle about baby names of Prince William and Kate
Middleton finally answered. The couple was given the name of their new baby
aged two-day "Charlotte Elizabeth Diana".
French in origin, the
name Charlotte means "petite" and "feminine" or "free
man". The
princess's nicknames could include Charlie or Lottie, but we think she'll
probably be known as Charlotte most of the time (especially when she's been
naughty).
The baby will officially
be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. But
until recently, she would not have been called a princess at all. The Queen
brought in a rule change brought when the Duchess was pregnant with Prince
George. Before this, the new princess would have been given the title Lady
Charlotte Mountbatten-Windsor.
